There were many problems from the jump. Thanks to my position and the job, I was able to see problems of many departments. Everybody was complaining and bitching about someone or something. It was a tough situation for me personally because I was able to see who were causing issues and what they were doing to make my job even more difficult due to their laziness or stupidity. Because of that, it was somewhat difficult to interact with many employees including managers and supervisors knowing how incompetent or mentally challenged some of these people were.
Employees who transferred from another location would blame the management and new hires for many issues. While they did have valid points to some degrees, but many of them were also the problem in my eyes because my old building wouldn’t have hired and kept them. They wouldn’t be able to handle the volume on a daily basis. I knew what I did with others before and I saw what they were doing. There was no strategic thinking in order to run a smooth operation with efficiency. No rhyme or reason, they were just going through the motion working like zombies without brains. This location was not even moving a quarter of volumes compared to my old building. And yet, there were way too many issues.
One day when I was doing my rounds on the floor looking for a pallet as usual. I felt a sharp pain on my neck all of a sudden when I lifted my neck. It felt like my nerve was pinching or something. I immediately stopped with my task at hand and took it easy until I got home with this uncomfortable pain on my neck. This pain was somewhat lingering on my neck for days and I couldn’t really lift my neck. And because I was working with halfwitted employees, I had to constantly lift my neck with this uncomfortable pain all over the place everyday. Eventually, I couldn’t do it anymore. This pain on my neck was not going away and I didn’t want to risk living the rest of my life with this pain on my neck.
It was unfortunate, but I had to step down and do something else in another department. That was the only way to recover from my hit and run injury. I asked the GM to put me in another department due to my injury. He had no problem with my request and I was going to be working in another department which I later found out it was full of problems with mainly Gen Z employees.
The department was managed by a chubby kid with a wife and a baby from Virginia. Then there was a female supervisor who transferred from Miami with another guy who knew the GM from the past and became a manager in another department. Other employees in the department were mainly new hires who didn’t really know how to get the job done right in timely manner.

Out of these new hires, there were 3 Gen Z female employees in my workspace that I had to work with. They were like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and the triangle offense of talking to each other and not doing shit. And these managers were letting them do whatever they wanted for the most part. For this reason, I had to carry a lot of weight on top of fixing mistakes from unfinished jobs from the morning crew.
Out of those 3 female Gen Z employees, something was off with one of them. She looked like a space cadet lost in space at times. Besides from not doing much at work, her specialty was kissing managers and supervisors’ asses. Then there was another Gen Z female employee with an arm disability who didn’t do much other than watching Food TV network and talk to other employees.
After awhile, it got to a point where I wanted to legally change my name to some name mixed with Greek, Chinese and African heritage, so people couldn’t pronounce my name at all. I was tired of people calling my name for all kind of shit. It was usually because of someone’s stupidity or laziness. This was the routine day in and day out.
One night while I was helping out a customer and fixing a pallet, my injured leg suddenly got weak and I couldn’t walk straight comfortably. Then I heard my name being called by a senior manager, Wesley, with Haitian background who was most definitely DEI hire and promotion. I say most likely because this guy was somewhat useless as a manager regardless of his time and service with the company. This guy was no help when it came to my job. If anything, he created problems by talking to female employees for hours and enabling these Gen Z employees to do whatever they wanted. We will get into this character more later.
I was walking slowly towards Wesley’s voice from the deep abyss of darkness due to a sudden pain in my leg. Then, Wesley along with another new hire female manager from a department jewelry store came up to me with his slow walking shit face and said with an irritating and borderline angry tone,
“WHY DIDN’T YOU ANSWER AND COME TO ME WHEN I CALLED YOUR NAME? I NEED YOU TO TAKE CARE OF BLAH BLAH BLAH.”
I was vexed inside because I couldn’t believe this mofo had the audacity to talk to me in a such manner after dealing with unnecessary problems created by his poor management constantly while dealing with my injury from hit and run. Instead of smacking his face for talking recklessly, I replied gently,
“It’s too dark around here and I couldn’t find you because of your face.”
It didn’t take too long for Wesley to bring out his Haitian gangster godfather act after that comment. I guess Wesley wanted to impress his chubby princess. He said,
“If it wasn’t for me, you would be fired already. I’m doing you a favor by keeping you here. Where are you going to go and what are you going to do if I fire you?”
I laughed at his comment inside and replied as I walked away to deal with another stupidity in another department caused by his poor management,
“I will go wherever I have to go and do whatever I have to do.”
