After the fallout with his close high school social circle and getting out of the hospital, G had no other options but to move back with his parents for the time being. G had less than $100 to his name with about $20 – 40K debt. He had no job and it was looking very gloomy for G at the moment. He had no idea what to do and where to begin. He wasn’t even able to physically move his body freely right away due to his surgery.

Not knowing who to trust from his high school social circle and no one to rely on, G began playing video games while recovering from his surgery. Once he was able to walk without too much pain in his body, he decided to run laps with weights around his parents house like he was going through a military bootcamp.

Once G felt he was fully recovered physically, he started to run to a public library almost everyday to read books and figure out what to do to make a living and pay his bills. It wasn’t easy to find a job with the whole nation affected by housing market collapse and terrible economy. With so many obstacles on the horizon and not knowing how to overcome every issue coming for G, he felt like he was living in doomsday and he was in so much depression to say the least. No matter what G was feeling at that moment, one thing was for sure in his mind: He was going to survive and make it without any help from his close high school friends.

After applying for countless jobs, Poppa G finally got one. It was a delivery gig involved delivering restaurant food and alcohols. This job provided paychecks to G, but it wasn’t enough to cover his expenses and bills since he had to use his own car and also pay for gas. And at times, this was a somewhat dangerous gig because he had to deliver alcohols to low income hoods and project buildings. It wasn’t hard to tell that many of these customers were lazy hopeless soon to be full fledged career criminals. There was a time when G went to deliver an order to a building in the hood. When he got up to the floor and walked around the corner, he encountered a Police Swat team with guns drawn, ready to kick the apartment door and bust somebody. Not long after that event, G had to search for a new job since it was getting too dangerous to be keep going to low income hoods full of low life criminals.

One night, G reached out to a guy named Rogue who used to be a part of Prime & P’s crew. G went to Rogue’s apartment with a bottle of cheap Gin to unwind and talk about his life. During this visit when G was having a very tough time financially and mentally, Rogue recommended G a book called ‘Good to Great’ and told him about The Stockdale Paradox. After reading the book and taking in The Stockdale Paradox, G finally quit that terrible delivery gig and found another shitty hard labor job via a temp agency working at a warehouse.

It wasn’t a good paying job working at this warehouse. However, it was a blessing in disguise because this warehouse was the place that the majority of convenience store owners went to purchase their products in bulk to sell other than big box retailers such as Walmart or Costco. It was a physically grueling work everyday, but it was doable thanks to a Korean guy who married a white girl in South Korea and moved to North America. He used to be a member of Korean Army riot squad who got his ass kicked in the front line whenever there was a riot.

Some store owners already knew G due to his previous job working for an advertising/media company. As time went by, Poppa G gained huge respects from convenience store owners throughout the city by working hard at the warehouse. G was able to network with almost everyone of them by talking shit, cracking jokes and assisting them.

During this time, when G was not working at a warehouse, he also hung out with Prime, White and Chief who were making hip hop/rap music together trying to break in the music scene. At that time, Prime was living in the Greek town and that was the main spot that they hung out to create rap songs and perform at a small venue near by. G was not a part of this amateur hip hop/ rap crew, but because of his skills to make beats, he was around them to see their progress in the music business and etc. Through this venture, G got to know White who was a nephew of Prime and many others.
